The office is in need of a paint job. The paneling is old and dark. Also looking at getting a new gloss over the community center floor as its been chipping. The council has given a budget of $1,000 for this. A community member has stepped forward to volunteer their time to do the painting. Motion was made Tepner, and seconded by McCart. All ayes. Motion Carried.
The Town Hall has only had a bracket on the front of the building to hold a Flag for years. The flag cannot be left up due to how low it hangs and how the pole rubs the letters and ruins them. We will have a telescoping, heavy flag pole put in just south of the building by the little park over there so the The town of Bode may now fly a flag at all times! 🙂 Council member McCart made a motion to approve the purchase of flag pole and volunteer work to be done by Dan Weydert to install it, seconded by council member Fulwider. All ayes. Motion carried.
The council has approved to pay for another full month of our Maintenance positions health insurance due to him not being back quite full time yet.
The town normally pays half. The council will revisit this again in September. An email as been sent out to a company to ask about information on grants for new electronic water meters .as our current ones are from the stone age. Council member Fulwider made a motion to approve old business, seconded by council member Tepner. All ayes, motion carried.
Had to order more weed killers as the weeds are ridiculous this year. Also got new lines painted on mainstreet and have started on rossing ave. Not much much else to add. Will be looking into fixing the curb by the library.
The fire department has been looking into and raising
money to build
a new fire department for quite some time. The issue they kept running Into was a location. Where were they going to put such a big building
In or around the Town of Bode?? As of last night they have picked their location and the council
has approved!! This is exciting
as the men and
women of our department have worked very hard on this researching what needs and wants need to be met. There will be much more to come!! Council member Tepner made a motion to
approve this exciting news and it was seconded
by council member Hasfjord. All ayes, motion carried.
Everyone looked it over. Looks good. First motion carried by council member Fulwider, seconded by McCart. All ayes. Motion carried.
The council tabled this for now as nothing is set in stone but they are not against it.
Did some research
on this and it is legal to put a well in your yard in Bode as long as you follow rules
and regulations of the DNR. We
let her know all the information we have found.
Council member Tepner made a motion seconded
by Fulwider. All ayes.
